As a Systems Development Engineer (SysDev) in S3, you get to deliver these capabilities and delight our customers working with teams of talented engineers and leaders.
Were seeking talented system development engineers to build solutions to accelerate region builds, technology transformations, and feature deployments. This SysDev role reports into the S3 Agility organization supporting our efforts to grow S3 at an incredibly fast pace and drive cross org campaigns at scale. Customer usage of S3 continues to grow exponentially, and we are constantly expanding our global footprint with new AWS regions. How can you tell if thats you? You LOVE automating, difficult problems, and using data to solve a problem. Youre always on the hunt to automate in any given system, and you find simple, systemic changes to improve things permanently. Finally, you hunger to give customers what they want: highly performant, low-cost, always-on storage.
In this position, youll have the opportunity to:
• Design, implement, deploy and maintain innovative solutions to improve the S3s speed of delivery and adoption of new platforms.
• Use engineering best practices to ensure the standard of quality of all team deliverables.
• Work in an agile development environment prioritizing most important and impactful projects.
• Integrate internal tooling APIs and data lakes to develop custom solutions for multiple stakeholders.

We maintain a regular on-call rotation across our teams with engineers and managers all taking part to resolve the inevitable issues that arise. • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• 4+ years of experience as a systems development engineer or in related occupations (DevOps engineering, software/systems development)
• 3+ years of experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages, such as: Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, or Go
• 3+ years of experience building automated tools in Python, Java and/or Ruby.
• Experience with agile software development practices.
• Comfortable working with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly.
• Ability to take a project from requirements analysis through to launch and operation of the system in production.
