Systems Engineer and Strategic Planner

LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech company, is in search of a Systems Engineer to provide Technical Advisor/Strategic Planner support for the Federal Aviation Administrations (FAA) System Wide Information Management (SWIM) initiative.
Responsibilities
• Provide expertise in analyzing and assessing the SWIM program strategy and its components.
• Coordinate the development and review of artifacts for FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS)/Joint Resources Council (JRC) and other decision support activities.
• Collaborate with the SWIM Program Manager on program goals and activities.
• Interface with and support the SWIM management team as directed by the Program Manager.
• Provide liaison support to other FAA stakeholders as directed by the PM, including AJM-1, AJM-3, ANG, ATO, AIT, and others.
• Offer engineering expertise and technical support to ensure the development, execution, and evaluation of SWIM projects, systems, plans, and services.
• Provide Cloud Integration support for designs, implementation, and deployment activities involving Cloud technology for SWIM projects.
• Review technical documents/plans, technical evaluations, testing/evaluation support, system modeling, development of strategic and programmatic management plans and guidance documents, technical analyses and feasibility assessments, and enterprise integration support.
Education
• Bachelors degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field).
Qualifications
• 6-10 years of experience.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in providing strategic planning support for Enterprise Programs and Initiatives.
• Ability to adapt quickly to dynamic and often competing priorities.
• Experience in project/program management to ensure deadlines and milestones are met.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suites (PowerPoint, Project, Word).
• Experience with Cloud Technology, specifically Amazon Web Services GovCloud.
• Experienced in Enterprise Architecture (EA) Product Development, including Systems Views, Operational Views, Functional Analysis Documentation (FAD), and program requirements.
• Experience supporting/executing the acquisition process and decision points, with the ability to review both technical and financial documentation to provide recommendations.
• Provide business strategy, solution development, implementation and migration planning and execution, and integration into the operational environment.
• Participate in team-based business strategy, solution development, implementation and migration planning and execution, and integration efforts.
Nice To Have
• Proficient in navigating the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS).
• Familiarity with FAA standards and involvement in FAA Safety Risk Management activities.
• Skilled in Application Programming Interface (API) integration, including design, deployment, and architecture review/analysis.
• Previous experience as a Federal Government contractor, with preference given to those with FAA experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Requirements:
• Work location: Remote work (Must reside in DC/MD/Virginia)
• Work Hours: Normal working hours; flexible.
• Travel: 0 - 20% (indicate amount of travel with position)
• Physical requirements: (indicate any lifting or other. Perhaps something for computer/knowledge positions indicating working with a computer for extended periods - use below examples as needed)Extended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.
• Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds may be required during installations or maintenance.
• Mobility: Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware, networking equipment, and server rooms.
• Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision.
• Sitting/Standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues.
• Background check: Must be able to pass government public trust investigation.

Compensation (Pay Bands)
Salary at LST is determined by a wide array of factors, such as (but not limited to) education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and is based on full-time, 40 hour/week status. Part-time staff receive compensation at an hourly rate. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements) and is just one component of LSTs total compensation package for employees. ** In compliance with local laws, LS Technologies presents this reasonable compensation range as a guideline for roles in California, Colorado, New York, or Washington D.C.
