Job Description
Company Description
Fid Labs is building developer tools tailor-made for robotics, powered by the latest in generative AI. By leveraging LLM-powered code gen to automate hardware integrations at scale, we are enabling anyone to build the next generation of robotics, industrials, aerospace, and autonomous vehicles. We have raised $1.6mm in pre-seed funding from top VCs, including 8VC, Boost VC, Mythos Ventures, Earthling VC, and Menelaos Mazarakis.
Role Description
This is a unique opportunity to shape the architecture and strategic direction of a platform that is redefining robotics software workflows that have been stagnant for decades. You will contribute to the core code generation technology at the heart of our product by building at the cutting edge of production language model architectures, fine tuning, evaluation, and prompt engineering. You should also be willing to help out with back-end infrastructure, user experience, and other parts of the product as needs arise in order to get our MVP to market. You will work side-by-side with the technical founder of Fid Labs and experience all facets of building a startup. The role is primarily on-site at Newlab in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, but with flexibility around occasional remote work needs.
Responsibilities
- LLM application architecture, fine tuning, evaluation, and prompt engineering
- Integrating LLMs with hardware data sources and experimenting with LLM capabilities in new domains
- Occasional full-stack application development as needed for the MVP
- Architecture and prototyping of broader developer platform beyond generative integration MVP
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python (for building the product), as well as familiarity reading and debugging C++ or Rust (for the generated output of the product)
- Experience with generative AI and LLM-powered code generation
- Experience building developer tools, DevOps infrastructure, CI/CD systems, or IDE extensions
- Experience with robotics, embedded systems, systems software, or firmware
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
