Job Description:

Explore Digital is seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Part-Time Product Designer with a minimum of 3+ years of handson experience. This experience should include creating website experiences from conceptual phases with wireframes to high-fidelity mockups/prototypes, and collaborating closely with developers for quality assurance – preferably in a fast-paced agency setting.

The ideal candidate not only possesses highly refined design skills but also demonstrates a profound level of empathy, enabling them to deeply understand human behavior when interacting with website experiences. This empathy and understanding allow them to take a more analytical approach to UX, ensuring that their designs resonate with users and drive high conversions for our clients.

Additionally, the Part-Time Product Designer may occasionally be tasked with creating ad graphics, newsletters, social media graphics, or even working with video, as needed. Experience and openness to work with these other pieces of the user experience is a huge plus.

Position Details:

  • This is a part-time position, initially offering approximately 20-30 hours per week.
  • The role is remote, providing flexibility in work location but requires availability between the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm PT.
  • There is potential for the position to transition to full-time based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Design or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UX/UI design, wireframing, and prototyping.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced agency environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
  • Experience with product experience insights platforms for user behavior analysis and recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with QA processes and collaborating with developers to ensure design implementation meets quality standards.

Responsibilities:

Understanding Client Needs:

Design Creation and Iteration:

  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity designs, iterating based on feedback to optimize user experiences with conversions in mind.

User Experience Enhancement:

Adapting Design Processes:

  • Follow procedures and methodologies to meet project goals, addressing challenges and ensuring efficient workflow and outcomes across all design deliverables.

Quality Assurance and Support:

  • Conduct thorough QA for all design deliverables, including website designs, ads, newsletters, social media graphics, and video content, collaborating closely with production team members and providing ongoing support to maintain design integrity.

Proficiency in Additional Design Elements:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in creating ad graphics, newsletters, social media graphics, and video content from the outset, as these tasks are integral to the role's responsibilities and contributing to the overall user experience.
