Senior System Engineer - Thames Valley
£45,000 - £55,000 Per Annum

Established for over 30 years our client is looking to growing there Systems Engineering team. They specialise in control systems for process control, automation, and telemetry, primarily for the water industry.

Within the Systems Group, the core skills are PLC, HMI, SCADA, RTU, networking and data acquisition. With other expertise in the business covering instrumentation, telemetry, LV Assemblies and Electrical Installation, as they are able to offer full turnkey solutions for our clients.

Your role

• Surveying & writing clear reports.
• Production of detailed and professional functional design specifications (FDS) to a high quality.
• Bespoke program development, configuration and modification of PLCs, HMIs and SCADA systems.
• Production and delivery of professional Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Customer facing FATs (CFAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) reports.
• Production of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• On site installation, testing, fault finding and commissioning.
• Managing project related correspondence, plans, deliverables and documentation.
• Aiding others with delivery of projects, and training.

Essential for the role

• Experienced in Industrial Automation (Specifically, Allen Bradley PLC ladder logic, FTView HMI), software design and implementation, with a sound knowledge of Process Control technique
• Electrical awareness as you will be working in and around electrical panels and equipment.
• Attention to detail to ensure documents are formatted correctly and all information is detailed, visualisations (e.g. HMI) is accurate and of a high professional quality and ensuring PLC code is well structured, labelled and functional.
• Strong commissioning capabilities to ensure projects are delivered safely, ensuring there is minimal negative impact on the processes around you, whilst confirming the successful operation of new controls.

Desirable for the role

• Experience with Control Logix, Compact Logix, Micro Logix, SLC PLC's.
• WonderWare Achestra System Platform & InTouch HMI.
• Industrial Networking (Profibus, DeviceNet, Modbus, ControlNet, TCP/IP, fibre…etc).
• Iconics (Genesis 32 and 64).
• Experience with other PLCs & HMIs (Siemens, Mitsubishi…etc) and SCADA configuration packages (Iconics, Schneider Clear SCADA…etc).
